Xiaomi recently announced their budget smartphone line up in China last month with the Redmi 5A coming on top when it came to pricing. Xiaomi showed off the first pictures of its new budget-oriented device the Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus earlier this week and as of now, they’ve unveiled it in full. Xiaomi Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus were launched by Xiaomi at an event which was held in Beijing on Thursday.
Xiaomi is the brand which sells their products at a very low price. For example, Redmi 4 and Redmi Note 4 which were arguably the most sold and the most popular phones in India this year.
Specifications Of Xiaomi Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus:
The Redmi 5 sports a 5.7-inch HD+ with 720 x 1440 pixels display and as you guessed the device comes with an 18:9 display with a 72 percent NTSC colour gamut. The display has a 282 PPI pixel density. Whereas, the Redmi 5 Plus has the 5.99-inch Full-HD+ display with 1080 x 2160 pixels. The display is again 18:9, so-called bezel-less. The Redmi 5 Plus display has a 403 PPI pixel density.
The Redmi 5 packs in an octa-core Snapdragon 450 chipset which is clocked at 1.8 GHz, the Redmi 5 Plus holds a Snapdragon 625 chipset which is clocked at 2 GHz. The RAM variants available for Redmi 5 are 2 GB, 3 GB and in Redmi 5 Plus it has 3 GB and 4 GB RAM.
Cameras play a very important role in a smartphone and nowadays people mostly buy a smartphone just for the camera. The Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus both hold the same cameras at the Rear. The smartphone offers a 12-MegaPixel Rear Camera with a 1.25micron sensor and has a f/2.2 aperture and of course, it comes with a flash.

To the front, it rocks a 5-MegaPixel selfie shooter with a soft light selfie flash module. It also has supper for Beautify 3.0 app for better quality portraits.Both the smartphones bear a fingerprint sensor at the back just as seen on their other devices. The storage options for the Redmi 5 is 16 GB and 32 GB with an option to expand the storage via MicroSD. The Redmi 5 Plus offers 32 GB and 64 GB Storage variants which is also expandable.

As far as connectivity is concerned, it has support for 4G VoLTE, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.w and yes the most loved 3.5mm headphone jack. The Redmi 5 packs in a 3,300 Mah battery whereas the Redmi 5 Plus bears a 4,000mAh battery. In my opinion, this is one deal we cannot miss.

Pricing And Availability
