Samsung has just now launched two new devices in its Flagship Galaxy lineup which are S8 and S8+, and there was not much of an anticipation for the device, in the launch event because most people in the tech community know what are the leaks, which were going around from the last two months and every leak has come to be true in the launch event of Samsung Galaxy s8 and S8 Plus. The Launch event took place in New York. Now for the people who have missed the launch event, have a look here at the images and what the phone has to offer for the public.
Firstly, let’s talk about the design here has we see in the above image the new flagship is not similar to the previous generation, but from the pictures we can tell that Samsung has increased the screen size and the bezels are brought to its minimum size and taking a closer look at the images we can see that there is no physical home button on the device, and the fingerprint sensor has been shifted to the back side of the device beside the camera which looks a bit different but we all will be getting used to it, and the device carries a headphone jack, USB C port and stereo speakers at the bottom.
Now talking about the display Samsung has come up with two new sizes for the device which are 5.8-inch and 6.2-inch displays for Samsung Galaxy S8 and Samsung Galaxy S8+ respectively, and both the devices will be having Super AMOLED QHD (1440×2940) display’s and the interning point in these images is that we have got edge display on both the devices which are excellent to see and the screen size is having an extra wide 18.5: 9 aspect ratio. The pixel density of the displays is 570 PPI and 529 PPI for Samsung S8 and S8+ respectively.
The phone runs on Snapdragon 835 processor with 8 cores where (4 cores clocked at 2.35 GHz with kyro, and other 4 cores clocked at 1.9 GHz with kyro), there is only one variant of the device which is 4 GB RAM with Internal storage of 64 GB and it can also be expandable up to 256 GB. There is a Fingerprint scanner at the back of the device. The phone carries an Adreno 540 GPU. The Exynos 8895 Processor for different geographical locations and it has 8 cores where (4 cores clocked at 2.3 GHz, and other 4 cores clocked at 1.7 GHz ), there is only one variant of the Exynos processor of the device which is 4 GB RAM with Internal storage of 64 GB, and it can also be expandable up to 256 GB.The phone has a Hybrid dual-SIM support which is 4G, and the other one is standby, and both slots are for Nano SIM.The device comes with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. This device will run on the customized skin which is called grace UX.
Samsung has come out with DEX (Desktop Experience), which is an extra accessory for S8 and S8 plus and this will allow you to turn your smartphone into PC and this will give you a big screen experience.
Samsung has not improved the battery life of the S8 and S8+, and this device will be having a 3000 mAh and 3500 mAh battery respectively.
Samsung has also carried the same camera from there S7 to their latest flagship which is S8, and in the S8 and S8+, we have got a 12 MP rear camera with f/1.7 aperture with phase detection autofocus, OIS, LED flash and the front facing camera will be a 8 Mp camera, and here we have got iris scanner on S8 and this is the same Iris Scanner which we have seen it in the Note 7. This facial recognition technology will work with the 3.7 MP Iris camera sensor which is right next to the S8’s front-facing camera.
Samsung has come out with a new Ai Assistant who is Bixby, and it will be a Samsung’s version of Google assistant, and they want to take on their arch-rival Apple’s Siri with their Ai assistant which is and Bixby can speak up to 8 languages. The Bixby can be initiated by using a dedicated hardware key or by saying the word ‘Bixby’.
The device will be available in five colors which are Midnight Black, Orchid Gray, Coral Blue, Arctic Silver, Maple Gold.
Pricing and Availability:-
Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus will go on sale on 21st April in the US market. The Price tag of the S8 is $750, and S8+ will be $850.
