Facebook, on 18th April launches two of the most powerful ways for people to communicate with bots. This was a challenge that Facebook’s messenger team was dealing with, since quite a while now.

If you’ve noticed in the recent update, the “chat extension” let’s you use Messenger Bots in group chats. Whether it is a sport’s game ¬†you wanna follow up ball by ball, or maybe you want to get a list of the most trending songs around you, figure out which hotel to stay in with your friends on a vacation, or anything. The bots are always on the edge hand when we need em’. A few other companies like the NBA, Food Network, WSJ have also launched their bot services on the 18th of April 2017. Although the support to “Apple Music” is still in beta and there are works going on to make that a reality.

You can also book hotels on SnapTravel straight from the messenger chat screen or book a flight with Kayak with the help of these bots.

Although these bots do still require some improvement and work to seem more humanly. The replies of these bots although do not seem too humanly as of now. This is the main area where Facebook’s Messenger team has to improve on.

The second major reveal at the F8 event was the Discovery Tab on Messenger. Here, people can see things like, their recently used bots, browse bot categories, search for specific bots or even see trending experiences. The users can also check out a previous screen so that they get to know what the bot is about and its functions before they start a conversation.

Also, we have news that finally, Facebook is expanding it’s M suggestion that uses AI to scan the type/style of your conversations and recommend Messenger features to use on those basis. M would now start to suggest bots from foreign developers that could serve the needs of your and your friend’s talk. For instance, if someone says, “let’s order pizza”, M would recommend delivery.com’s bot for placing an order though the chat screen itself.

There are now a lot of bots foreign developers have developed and users have faved difficulty finding the right ones. So, onstage at the F8 conference, Messenger head David Marcus said,

I’m glad we called it a beta.

Facebook is trying their peak best to improve their “bot” suggestion and other bot complimentary services. Meanwhile, bots like SnapTravel, has droven more than $1 million-worth of business inside of messenger just from the chat screen,-proving that in-chat commerce is not a thing of the future anymore and that people have already adapted to it.

There is soon gonna be a lot of hassle with the bots segment and the developers have surely got a reason to promote their services to the 1.2 billion people who use messenger, there are quite a lot of people who’d love to try different bots.
