Huawei’s sub-brand Honor was launched in India 3 years ago and today was their three year anniversary.To celebrate their existence in the Indian smartphone market for this time period they launched a new phone called the Honor 9i. The Honor 9i is essentially the Maimang 6 which was launched in China in the month of September in 2017.

Every bit of the phone is same except the phone is branded as Honor and not Huawei. The phone also resembles the Huawei Nova 2i which was launched earlier this month in Malaysia. The highlight of the phone is the presence of dual cameras on both sides i.e dual camera setup on the front as well as on the rear. Another highlight is the FullView Display which is basically fewer bezels and the weird but trendy aspect ratio of 18:9 which many smartphones are touting these days.

Specifications Of Honor 9i

Honor 9i sports a 5.9-inch Full HD Display with no word of any protection on the screen and comes with a metal unibody construction. The screen resolution is a bit weird and is termed as Full HD+ 1080 x 2160 and comes with an 83 percent screen to body ratio.

The selfie camera as said earlier is a Dual-Camera Setup, sports a 13-megapixel sensor with a 2-megapixel sensor for depth information with some software tweaks for bokeh which is very popular nowadays. The rear camera is a 16-megapixel sensor with a 2-megapixel sensor.

The phone is powered by the octa-core Kirin 659 processor clocked at 2.36 GHz coupled with 4 GB of RAM and 64GB of internal Storage. The Kirin 659 can be termed as a Snapdragon 630 equivalent. It runs on Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box based on their own custom skin called EMUI 5.1 and houses a 3,340 mAh battery.

Pricing and Availability

The Honor 9i or the Maimang 6 is priced at Rs.17999 in India and Flipkart is the exclusive seller. The phone will be going on sale starting 14th of October. Honor also has some pretty neat launch offers which will be present when you buy the phone. The three colors launched in India are Platinum Gold, Navy Blue, and Midnight Black.

They have also launched the 10,000 mAh QuickCharge power bank priced at Rs.2,399 and will be available via the Honor online store with an introductory Diwali Offer till 28 October discounting the price down to Rs.1,999.
