Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus

The Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus are the future successors of the current flagships, the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus which come with a lot of new features. The upcoming flagships will have dual cameras like the one found on the Galaxy Note 8.

Firmware and Model Numbers

Samsung revealed the Galaxy Note 8 in MWC 2017 event and has just recently launched it in the Indian market. Dj Koh, the CEO of Samsung confirmed that they’ll be launching a foldable Galaxy Smartphone in 2018.

Samsung’s next flagship smartphones, Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus seem to be in the development stage already. They are expected to be launched ahead of MWC 2018 Event. The model numbers of the Galaxy s9 and S9 Plus are SM-G960F and SM-G965F respectively. They are on the same line as the S8 and S8 Plus.

The Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus have the model numbers SM-G950 and SM-G955 respectively. Apparently, the firmware development for the upcoming Galaxy S devices has begun. If we look at the model numbers, the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus have the firmware G960FXXU0AQI5 and G960FXXU0AQI5  respectively. The devices are expected to come with Android 8.0.1 Oreo out-of-the-box on top of Samsung’s Experience UI.

The Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus will most likely come with a Dual Camera setup, found on the Galaxy Note 8. There was no under-glass fingerprint scanner on the Galaxy S8 or Galaxy Note 8 smartphones. However, the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus might become Samsung’s first devices to feature under-glass fingerprint technology. As these devices are in development stage, we should expect a lot of leaks in the coming weeks.

Specifications Of Samsung Galaxy S9 And Galaxy S9 +

Benjamin Geskin, the person who revealed most of the details of the iPhone X ahead of its launch, has now revealed few details about the upcoming Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus smartphones. The base models of the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus will offer 6 GB of RAM coupled with 128 GB of built-in storage and MicroSD card support for further expansion.

The U.S and Chinese variants of the smartphones are expected to come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 Processor, the other countries will get the devices powered by Samsung’s own 10nm Exynos 9 Octa Processor. The Exynos 9 Octa on the Galaxy S9 could pretty well be the successor to the Exynos 9 Octa 8895 found in the Galaxy 8 and Note 8 Smartphones. The company is expected to further reduce the size of the bezels on the infinity display.
