We’ve been seeing a lot of amazing launches at CES 2018 event, Panasonic has also stepped into the action with latest Lumix GH5S video focused mirror-less camera designed especially for professional filmmakers to capture highest image quality videos. Panasonic made some changes in latest Lumix GH5S, they’ve replaced the old 20.3 Mega-Pixel Micro four-thirds live MOS sensor which was featured in GH5 series camera with all new 10.2 Mega-Pixel Dual ISO sensor has a capability of providing better low-light performance.

At the CES 2018 launch announcement Panasonic said that the all-new camera
“The Lumix GH5S achieves highest-ever image sensitivity and video image quality in the history of Lumix cameras, especially in low-light situations, the Dual Native ISO Technology with low range (400) and high range (2,500) suppresses noise to produce cleaner footage when taken in all light.”
As we said Lumix GH5S camera is the first model that features mirror-less camera which is capable of shooting 4K video footage at 60 / 50P, and Panasonic takes one step ahead in shooting world’s first 4K 60 / 50P video recording in Cinema 4K at a resolution of 4096 X 2160.

The new Lumix GH5S body design allows you to shoot continuously without any overheating issues so you can record 4K videos as long as you want, actually, there is no time limit for 4k HDR video recording. The main problems for filmmakers are that the compatibility of a camera with different devices, so Lumix GH5S has a solution for this problem it has a Timecode In/out which makes it easy for synchronization with multiple compatible devices that reduces the pain in post-production work.
Talking about the Lumix GH5S design, there isn’t much change in looks but the body is made up of a magnesium alloy of a die-cast frame which is splash proof, dust-proof and it is capable of freeze-proof down to -10c. There’s also a 3.2-inch touchscreen display that is capable of delivering 3680K-dot resolution and addition to that there is electronic viewfinder with a big magnification ratio of 0.76x for delivering smooth 120fps videos.

Lumix GH5S connectivity
Coming to connectivity options, the all-new Lumix GH5S features an HDMI 2.1 port through which we can easily transfer captures right on set to storage mediums. However Lumix GH5S doesn’t feature any optical stabilization feature, so you have to the specific lens that supports optical image stabilization.
Talking about the photography features, Lumix GH5S has a capability to capture 14-bit RAW images at 0.07 sec focus speeds, and we can capture burst shots at 12fps and continuous auto-focus shots at 8fps. On the other end, a Lumix GH5S focusing option also includes face-eye recognition, 1-area AF, tracking AF and pinpoint AF.
