At the Qualcomm press meet Katouzian, Senior Vice President and General Manager said that
“As evidenced by our work with these distinguished OEMs from around the globe and as we demonstrated in 3G and 4G LTE, Qualcomm Technologies is utilizing our deep expertise and technology leadership to support the successful launch of 5G NR, driving innovation in the mobile ecosystem,”
Qualcomm also said that more than dozen global smartphone manufacturers are expressed their interest in 5G and also some of them agreed to deal with Qualcomm technologies. It is expected that the big companies like Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo are going to be launch 5G compatible smartphones in the 2019 year. However, Vivo has already confirmed their launch in 2019 which is going to be sporting a Snapdragon X50 5G network compatibility and Vivo has planning to hit the global markets in 2019.

Along with the Major Smartphone manufacturers some of the other companies also joining hands with Qualcomm to incorporate 5G technology in 2019. Here is the list of companies tied with Qualcomm Nokia, Sony, LG, HTC, and ZTE.
Other companies that have partnered with Qualcomm are Sierra Wireless, NetComm Wireless, Fujitsu, Wingtech, Inseego/ Novatel Wireless, Netgear, Sharp, Telit, and WNC. It is expected that these devices will be built around the sub-6GHz and mmWave spectrum bands starting next year.
The upcoming Qualcomm 5G technology not only limited to smartphones but also it affects drastic changes in Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR) and Extended Reality (XR). Not only the above-stated technologies, the all-new 5G is going to change the mobile broadband to the next level.
Qualcomm claimed that 5G will offer faster browsing speeds than ever, better streaming, accessing cloud storage will be faster and you can download any file in seconds without worrying about the file size.
Recently HTC showcased their first ever 5G handset, which is said to be a U12 version, and they’ve shown that it delivers download speeds up to 809.58Mbps which is way too faster than anything else in the world. Think of it, a 5G support smartphone is capable of delivering faster internet speeds compared to other internet providing technology such as Broadband etc, Qualcomm just made it possible and they’re expecting that it may reach “several gigabits per seconds” in future.
