Xiaomi has been ruling the budget market for quite a while now and it has since won hearts of the customers. The Redmi Note 5 and Note 5 Pro have launched a week or two ago and it’s still running in the flash sales. The Note 5 and Note 5 Pro has been a promising device for the company.The Chinese smartphone manufacturer seems to be all set for another launch of its mid-range devices here in the Indian Market – Xiaomi Redmi 5.

The teaser of the same has already been spotted online and the tagline reads “Compact Powerhouse” which got us to thinking. The teaser was posted on Twitter earlier today. The tagline may be referring to the size of the display and most probably the capacity of the battery. Although, the teaser does not reveal the name of the device rumors suggest its most probably the Redmi 5.

Xiaomi’s Managing director, Manu Kumar Jain posted this teaser with the caption saying, “Compact Powerhouse launching on 14th March”.

Display and Hardware of Xiaomi Redmi 5 (Chinese Version):

The Xiaomi Redmi 5 was earlier launched in China, the devices come with a metal unibody design and also it houses a soft toned selfie light for crisp selfies under low-light conditions too. It also features the bezel-less design and sports a 5.7-inch HD display with 1440x720p resolution. Also, it is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 SoC.

The device was launched in China last month and it’s available to the customer in two storage variants, 2GB RAM and 16GB internal as well as 3GB RAM and 32GB storage.

Cameras On Xiaomi Redmi 5:

The Xiaomi Redmi 5 packs in a 12-MegaPixel rear camera along with a 5-MegaPixel front camera with various features amongst which the Beautify 3.0 is widely used for better portrait selfies.

Since the device is budget oriented it doesn’t house a dual camera setup at the rear. Just below the camera is the fingerprint sensor which has proved to be accurate and fast.

Redmi 5 has support for Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, WiFi and also consists of a micro-USB port. The headphone jack which has been ignored by tech giants has made an appearance in the Redmi 5 which shall be appreciated by the customers. The Redmi 5 comes with a 3300mAh battery which is more than enough to power the device through a whole day of productivity.

The Redmi 5 went on sale for CNY 799 and CNY 899 in China. The Redmi 5 is expected to cost lesser in India. A 4 GB Ram variant is also available which may be coming to the Indian markets. More news on the same shall be received in the coming days and hopefully, we’ll get some clues before the release just like we got the Note 5/Note 5 Pro launch.
